"SHINY"
While visiting the OSU campus, we toured the Wexner Center for the Arts exhibition of "Shiny", which "examines our culture's love of luxury, spectacle, shiny things, and our own reflections".
I especially loved the big, blue "Balloon Dog" made from shiny cast aluminum! The mirrored objects were beautiful too and something I would enjoy having in my own house! {If I had more room!}
Visiting Our Misty!
~We finally got a chance to go visit Misty at college and I was amazed at how much she had changed in just the first couple of weeks! She seemed more independent and grown up although I know she will always be my "baby"!
~We had a nice time seeing her classrooms, walking the routes she walks everyday and eating "her food" at several of the campus dining facilities.
These photos were taken at "Mirror Lake" on campus which is a beautiful place to laze away a sunny day and watch the ducks that live there!
{The weekend that OSU plays Michigan, it is tradition for everyone to jump in Mirror Lake if they beat them! I can't wait to see the pictures of that!! Haha!!}
~I actually had more trouble leaving her this time than from when we initially took her up for move in day! I did not want to let go of her and we did the whole "kiss in the hand" thing several times before I headed to the car and sobbed the whole way home!
Argg!! I hate "good byes"!!!
The Lonely Bird
~I have often seen this little Mourning Dove sitting on the telephone line in front of my house at least twice a day for the last couple of years.
He or she is always sitting in the same place and always alone.
I know that Mourning Doves mate for life so I imagine it's mate is probably gone and he/she is left here on earth to bide away its time until they meet again one day.
No other birds will have anything to do with it and I often think that it finds some sort of happiness by looking in my windows, often to see me looking back or walking past the window doing my day to day chores.
