~Rachael's Dance Recital 2007~

~Last Sunday {May 20th} Denny and I went to watch my neice, Rachael, at her Dance Recital. She was really pretty up there on stage in her sequined costume and I couldn't help but remember all the years of going to watch Misty from the time she was four and up.

~Misty's first year at OSU has almost come to an end and what an exciting year it has been!!!
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of events, starting with "Greek Week" and several themed gatherings such as the "Office Ho's And CEO's" party....


*This guy apparently decided to dress like an "Office Ho" instead of a "CEO"...Haha!}

And ending with a "TOGA" party....


*Ohh!! Flashback to "Animal House"!! "TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!*

Also, Misty and a friend got their picture taken dancing with Greg Oden at one of the local clubs....


*He is soo tall that her friend had to practically lay on the floor to get them all in the picture!*

She also met comedian Carlos Mencia during his show at OSU and got his autograph....

~Misty will be spending the summer in Columbus working and begin her second year at OSU in the fall. She is majoring in Middle Childhood Developement/Education with a minor in Spanish.

~She was selected to visit Mexico for two weeks in December {2007} with the OSU Study Abroad Program where she will stay with a host family and learn more about the culture.
{Yes! I am just a little envious!! Hehe!}

When digging a hole in the sand was much more exciting than vegging in front of the TV or playing a video game!
{Although Denny doesn't look too excited...He was either mad because his Mom made him stop long enough to snap the picture or because Debbie had his bucket! Ha!}

*RACHAEL'S special day!!!*

~My little neice, Rachael, turned EIGHT in April and she had a birthday party at the skating rink for all her friends and family!~



~We all had a really good time and I was amazed to discover that I CAN STILL ROLLERSKATE without busting my butt!!!~



~Also, Denny and Misty can STILL ROLLERSKATE without busting their butts!!!~



~But...poor Bradley needed alittle help from Misty to keep from busting his butt!!~

My Friend "Huzzi"

~I began posting on a local forum with several others about 3-years ago and struck up a friendship with a fella' who went by the screen name of "Huzzi".

We bullshit, debate, talk about the weather, politics or anything that happens to come to mind.
And on more than one occasion, lend support and caring to those who seem unhappy or in need of a friend....even if it is only a "cyber" friend.
"Huzzi" was always doing this for others and he had a special way of making people feel better when they were down.

Years ago he was injured in a work-related accident, devoloped COPD, was put on oxygen and had to use a mobility scooter to get around.
He was very proud of his scooter and would often decorate it and drive it around town.

~This is a picture Denny took during Sternwheel Festival of "Huzzi" with his scooter all decked out like a sternwheeler, complete wth smokestacks and paddle wheel on the back!~



~During the winter "Huzzi" began getting worse, was in and out of the hospital and eventually sent home as they could do no more for him.
He passed away on April 4, 2007 and we lost a very good friend.
