~*Christmas 2008*~

~We had a nice Christmas and I was actually so busy visiting family and friends that I didn't have much time to fret about Misty not being home afterall!
On Christmas Eve we went to Denny's sisters house for dinner and to open presents, then Christmas afternoon we visited his brother's family for a wonderful dinner and gift exchange!

~Misty and Brad arrived late Christmas day and after we got home from "Uncle Jim's" around 8pm we finally had time to have our own family Christmas!

A WEIRD CHRISTMAS!!!

~Well, it seems this year will be the first Christmas morning ever that Denny I will not be waking up to find Misty waiting impatiently by the tree for us to come open presents.
And as much as I have tried to tell myself that it is not such a big deal, the thought of another family tradition changing or becoming obsolete is quite depressing to say the least. (*As the song "Blue Christmas" echoes in my head!)

~I find myself reflecting on Christmases past and how they have gradually changed over the years to bring us to this point. It is almost like Denny and I are back to "square one", before Misty was born and the beginnings of our life together...a sort of "full circle"...the "circle of Life".

~And so we will begin a new family tradition this year in hopes of keeping the Christmas spirit alive and well!
~MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and a very blessed New Year!~

*Mikko's First Christmas!*

~Mikko turned 9-months old December 3rd and got his first glimpse of the Christmas tree! He really wasn't sure what to make of it!


"Hummm...Which one of these presents is for me??"


"I wonder if Santa will bring me a new toy??"

~Christmas 2008~

~We finally got a halfway decent day last week and it was warm enough to put up some outside Christmas decorations! Here is the finished product....


~I always decorate the wooden birdhouse on our front porch and give the little birdies their own wreath and bow....


And the teddy bear's wagon at the backdoor....


~We put the Christmas tree up a week before Thanksgiving this year! It is in the livingroom out by the entrance to the deck since Mikko's cage sits where we usually put it....
