*"I put my life in danger and came here because I feel this country is in danger. People are worried. We will bring the country out of this crisis."*

Those are the words spoken shortly before she was assassinated by a suicide bomber during a rally in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad on December 27, 2007.

This was a courageous, strong and intelligent woman who achieved so much in her lifetime. Now the world will never know what promise she could have brought for the future of her homeland.
When will the killing of innocents stop?

2008...BRING IT ON!!!

glitter-graphics.com

~I am getting very excited for the coming New Year and hoping to find the courage to try a few things that have only been dreams for many years!
I would love to complete a few more paintings and jewelry pieces and find a place to show them...Maybe even sell a few!! That would be awesome!!

~I also am entertaining the idea of finding a part-time job this year after we finish some things around the house that need our attention.
I haven't worked in years so it is kind of scary to think about it, but I know that I need to find something constructive to do with all the spare time I have. I would love to volunteer because that is where the real rewarding jobs are at, but we also need the extra cash so maybe that dream will have to wait for a few more years.

~I hope the coming New Year is hopeful, healthy, happy and prosperous for ALL!!!

Our Christmas Tree 2007
~Our Christmas Tree 2007~

Well, it is beginning to look alot like Christmas around here! I finally got all my shopping done and even got everything wrapped so now I can sit back and enjoy the holidays! Yay!!

Misty arrived in Mexico City sometime during the afternoon of December 6th and is having an awesome time exploring and taking in all the sights and sounds of Mexico!

She called the second night and said she had been getting sick most of the day which caused me alot of concern! Thankfully, she emailed us back later that night and said one of the "locals" had given her something called "rice water' to drink which apparently was a much better cure than the Immodium I sent down with her!
I was so happy to hear that!

The group will be traveling to "Queretaro" Tuesday and then on to "Guanajuato" the following day.
The last week she will be staying with her host family in "Guadalajara" and then flying home on December 18th to spend Christmas here with family!

I cannot WAIT to see her and hear about all the fun and exciting things she experienced on her trip! It has been hard not hearing from her at least 3-4 times a day but as long as she is having fun and staying safe I can deal with anything!
